Wanted to post a few pictures of my new mantel (well, I actually got it in August, but better late than never)....Ty had a local carpenter make me this awesome mantel, and I got to put my touch on it...it was my "graduation/hallelujah you finally got a job" present!! We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out!!

Oh, and here are the before pictures....what a difference!....it was one of those things that kept getting pushed to the bottom of the to-do-list!

This is my biggest furniture project yet, and it was so much fun!!!....I finished this armoire and changing table up a few weeks before I left Jackson. These pieces are for a sweet little baby boy that will make his grand entrance soon...

Really wish I would have taken before/after pictures of this chair because it was in pretty bad shape....no telling how old it was, but it was such a lucky find! My daddy found it in a building that was about to be torn down and asked me to "fix it up" for him. Hmmm...Beaux and I think it turned out fabulous :)

Congrats goes out to Erin V., of Monroe!! She was the winner of the $100 Dazzle Gift Certificate...(Yes, I am a little behind schedule on announcing the winner!)

It's been a while since my last post, so let me catch up. School has become very demanding lately...I am about 13 weeks from taking my ultrasound physics registry...please say a prayer!! I am still absolutely in LOVE with ultrasound, but it is getting harder and harder for me to leave home every Sunday....I thought it would become easier as the school year goes on, but honestly, since Christmas, break I just can't seem to pull it all together. I am just making it weekend to weekend!!

I am not going to book nearly as many spring/summer shows as I did last year. Shows are a lot of HARD work for me, and I cannot handle a lot of them at this point!! We will be at the Catfish Fest, in Winnsboro, in April...other than that, I do not have anymore shows booked at this point. I will be back in full swing around August. I have frames for purchase at Small Town Designs (in Oak Grove) and Arnette's (in Bastrop).

Having said all that, I am still taking orders....creating frames is my passion, and I will continue to keep bringing you these unique pieces of art!!

Wow!! We have been constantly on the go for the past five weeks, and I think my head is still spinning. I can not count the number of trips I have made back and forth from Jackson to Monroe over the past month....and I thank the Lord for watching over me. We have been preparing all fall for this Christmas season, and I could not be more pleased with the way it turned out! I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the frame party hostesses for welcoming us unto your homes....y'all are amazing!!!

I am behind on emails, but I hope to catch up on all those today....please be patient I have three finals that I am also trying to prepare for :(....Orders are in the works as we speak.... I am almost finished with all orders from the Oak Grove and Delhi parties....I will be in contact with everyone for delivery arrangements.... I'll try to get a few sneak peeks on here if I find the time!!

One Year Anniversary!!!

Yep, one year ago this weekend Dazzle officially became a reality...and my life has not been the same since! I am completely amazed at how much our little business has grown over the last 12 months, and all the praise goes to GOD!! At times it is definitely more than I can handle....but thanks to a lot of support/help from my family, I have been able to "keep on, keeping on," lol!! I know I have abandoned my blog in the last month, and I am SORRY :)!! My life has been complete chaos lately due to completing all my new orders, preparing for my upcoming shows, and still trying to keep school my first priority....

As a little "Thank You" to all my amazing customers and to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, I am going to giveaway a $100 Dazzle gift certificate :)....

Dazzle Update....

Well, my life is officially over...at least for a little while, lol! I begin speciality school tomorrow, and I am officially a resident in the state of Mississippi....it's hard to believe! Please keep me in your prayers because this is going to be quite an adjustment for me...for those of you who know me, y'all know there are two things that are most important to me: my Ty and my family...and they are all more than 130 miles away from me right now:(.....

Having said all that, please know that Dazzle will continue.....I may have a longer than usual turn around time, but I will still continue to take orders until further notice. Please, please, please be thinking about your Christmas orders. I am going to put a cut off date on all Christmas orders, so please don't wait until the last minute!!

Yesterday we spent the evening at the Vanessa Diel Photography studio in Delhi, and there is only one word that comes in mind when I think of Vanessa's studio: FaBuLoUs!!

It's the first of the month again, and I am reminded just how fast my "last summer" is flying by...I call it this because it is the last summer before I am forced to get a real job, lol!! Next summer, I will be up to my eyeballs in clinicals, and then on to the real world with a real job:)...no more staying up late, sleeping in, and having a blast making frames!! I was reminded yesterday just how busy my life is about to get starting Aug. 17.....I consider myself to be a pretty fast paced driver, but yesterday the traffic in Jackson was CrAzY! Amber and I managed to miss every exit, and spent most of our time trying to figure how to turn around! But, I must tell you that after taking a look around at a few of those hospitals, I can already tell that I'm gonna LOVE it! With that being said, I am so thankful that had this summer to focus all my attention on Dazzle, and I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all my wonderful customers....y'all have been so patient with me, and I am so grateful for your business! Well, this is our nephew Jake...he is quite the little character! My daddy gives all the grandbabies nicknames, and Jake's is "Rooster"....Just ask him, he will tell you:

"My name is Jake Rooster Dettenhaim!!!"...I think he just might be a farmer when he grows up, LOL! We love him so much!

He was born yesterday evening and weighed 7lbs 9 oz.....We went to the hospital tonight and visited for a while...there is nothing in the world like a newborn baby! So sweet and tiny, and he has a ton of hair!! This frame was our gift to them. Congrats, Justin and Amanda!!

Well, here the are....all my nieces and nephews (aka: my adopted children)!!...All six of them are so much alike, but yet they are so different! I love them like they are my own!

Well, as of today it's official: Lacey Rollinson, BSRT (R).....aka: registered technologist! Although graduation was Saturday, I definitely have not been able to celebrate. I took my registry/board exam today in Shreveport, and PRAISE the LORD I passed!! I have never felt more pressure and stress than what I have felt in the past couple of weeks....and thank goodness it's all over! Here are a few pics from graduation Saturday...

Ok, the rain is not my friend :)....I learned this weekend just what Louisiana humidity/moisture in the air will do to paint! Emily called me with a quick order for the weekend, and I thought it would be no problem to complete...I was so wrong! It started raining Saturday, and the paint just wouldn't dry even though I had about three fans per frame....yes, I then began to freak out! Thankfully, Emily was very understanding, and I was able to complete her Mother's Day frames.... Despite mother nature, I thought it still turned out just precious!...love the bonding in the pic...so sweet! Emily I'll be done with the others soon...

Ok, this frame is definitely on the top of my favorites list. I custom built it for this 10x10 storyboard; the total frame measures 21x21....it's a big one:)... Isn't she just precious?!! I think this just goes to show that the only thing better than having the PERFECT picture, it having the perfect frame to compliment it.... Ok, you could say I've been a little busy lately. I've been up against some major school deadlines...two portfolios and a power point presentation all due the first part of this week..ugh!...but I am finally done! I had a meeting at my ultrasound school today in Jackson, so it was nice to get away for a while. I hope to have all orders delivered by this Friday...THANKS to everyone for being so patient!
Also, we have been asked to put our frames in the Antique Market in Bastrop. Yay! It will probably be around the first of June before we have our display up because I am taking my registry in mid May.....
For for those of you who have been going by Arnetts, I promise to have frames in there by next weekend! Sorry for the delay, but school comes first:)

We would like to say thanks to everyone that visited our booth Saturday. I'm not sure we were prepared for such a huge crowd; our inventory is pretty much wiped out (which is a great thing!) This was our best show yet, and we couldn't do it without all of our great customers...Special orders will be ready in 2-3 weeks...thanks again!

Sorry, but it is getting harder and harder for me to find time to blog. I am in the computer lab at school because one of my classes got canceled, and decided now would be a good time to catch up . We are so very excited about this weekend, and we hope that everyone will have a chance to stop by our booth at the Catfish Fest. To all my special order people: please be patient, I promise to have all your orders to you by next week....even the bottle cap necklaces, Kim and Pam :)....I just really have a lot on my plate right now...but I'm not complaining because if it weren't for Dazzle I would be bored and studying all the time! Well, I've been too busy to even blog lately. What slows me down is having to make multiples of every thing (very time consuming)! Anyways, we pretty much have everything made for the Catfish Fest, now we just gotta paint, paint, paint! I just wanted to post some of our newest items...This is our dog Beaux..he is smiling for y'all!

I had to show y'all our little ducks...John Henry, Peter, and Cindy (Ty hates it that I named them!) For the last three years these same three ducks show back up at our house at the first of spring. We have a small ditch by our house that is usually full of water, and that is where they call home. They are wild ducks, but they get so close sometimes that I can almost pet them. How they always find their way back every year amazes me....but it could be because we always feed them so much bread:)...guess that just goes to show that they are creatures of habit too!

We have come so far from day one, and it has taken several practice runs...but we are finally making our own custom frame designs! We couldn't be more excited! It has been a total family affair to get this up and running; but you will soon see what hard work and time we have all put into this. We are going to name each frame we design and this is our "Old Beach House Blue" frame. This one has actually already sold, but we are taking more orders. The total frame size is 16"x18" with an 8"x10" picture opening. We can paint it in the color of your choice and the amount of distressing is optional. This weekend we went to Shreveport to visit my sis Candice. I tell ya condo living is pretty darn nice! It's like living at the beach everyday....but the best part is that they are about five minutes from the Boardwalk :).... They are getting all settled in, and I kinda like them being over there because it is going to give us a chance to get away every now and then! Anyways, this isn't going to be a very fun week because I am loaded down with test..haven't had any so far then BANG here they are all in one week...but on the bright side I'm almost done with that place..YEAH! Hope everyone has a good week!!

Well, I am finally finished with all Christmas orders!! Painting has totally taken over my life for the last month, and it will be nice to finally sit back and relax for a few days!
